Notice the new theme? I must apologize if anyone contracted a virus while visiting djembesmith.com. It seems my blog was HACKED! I discovered this just after going through a 3 day process to remove a virus from my PC! These two unrelated instances just go to show that there is an all-out assault out there and no one is really safe from confrontation.
Scripture tells us that the enemy comes ONLY to STEAL, KILL and DESTROY. He doesn’t just seek those who are a threat to him. There is no more room for the mind set of “If I leave him alone, he’ll leave me alone”. Pacifism is NOT a scriptural concept. One of the names of YHWH is “Lord of Hosts”, that, my friend, is a warrior title.
So let’s all stand together in the unity of Christ and…
Go! Fight! Win!

KNOW what you believe!

My wife and I just had a long conversation debating core beliefs with some “visitors” from a religious organization. Personally, I love to debate. Primarily because a core belief in your life that has never been tested, probably isn’t very strong and will not pass the “whatever can be shaken, will be” test. It is VERY important that everything you believe in life (the what) has a strong backbone (the why). I’ve found that there are a number of ways we can test ourselves to be sure we are speaking from what we KNOW and not just second-hand ideas and philosophies.

One test is… are we embellishing our points with a lot of words and decorations to create a facade of assurance. If we are really completely convinced of a truth, we will not need to “make it more believable” with our words.

Another test is… Can you remain silent and hear the opposition out? Ignoring the opposition by sticking our fingers in our ears and going “la la la, can’t hear you” is a good indicator of insecurity as well.

Once we are free from becoming offended, we can see clearly to isolate the heart of the disagreement. When the heart is isolated, we can begin to debate the why. Then, as Paul said “…if on some point we think differently, this too He(the Spirit) will show us”. The beauty of the LIVING Word (that implies more than just written concepts on pages) is that it is Spirit and can be activated in us to “guide us in all Truth”.
Well, that’s all for now. There is more bouncing around inside but I have to get to a meeting.

Long time no post!

I have been a busy beaver, though.  One wonderful update… I’ve been accepted in istockphoto.com! So, needless to say, it requires a lot to get images ready and uploaded to istock standards. If you’re into photography AT ALL, I highly recommend it. I have learned VOLUMES about digital photography just going through the whole process of getting my photos accepted. Each photo you upload goes through a rigorous critique, and each rejection is a TREMENDOUS learning experience because with each rejection they tell you specifically why and provide a path forward.  See my istock portfolio here. If any of you are interested in joining, please click on the link below (there ARE referral bonuses). I think the real beauty of it is that iStock has a worldwide user base of millions of graphic professionals, all looking for just the right images for their projects. The only work on the providers part is whatever goes into the image creation. From there you just upload it and forget about it. Then it has the potential to make money each time it’s downloaded! It’s kind of like gambling without the risk factor!

They also have sections for audio, video and vector files. I’ve already turned on a friend to the audio end of it. Keep me posted David!

My 3d rendering so far…

Well, here it is. I won’t say how many hours of work this represents. I will say it’s a lot more complicated than it looks! This first screenshot shows (the way I work for the most part) the desktop divided into 4 screens with a top, front, side and orthographic view. I uploaded the appropriate background photo for each view to properly locate each vertice in space.

Evidently there is a name for those of us who get sucked in to the Blender… they call us Blenderheads

A New Time Consumer…

Well, I just found another item to add to the list of time consumers. It’s a neat full-featured 3d rendering program called Blender. What is REALLY neat is the fact that it’s Open Source (i.e. – FREE!). So, I’ve begun the very long process of rendering each of my kids in 3d to build a character base for CGI movies that will bring spiritual reality into physical reality.  I will start to post the progress here, as progress is made. If you’re interested… Get Blender Here.

Light, Sound and the nature of God

I recently finished the book called “the Shack” and it really stirred up some old questions about the nature of God. The mysteries of Grace, evil, pre-destination, eternity and the like still remain mysterious. But, somehow it’s OK now. I have learned to love the hide-and-seek aspect of God. I found that you either learn to love it or become bitter and dark inside.

” It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a thing.” -Proverbs 25:2 (AMP)

You can probably see from some of the other posts that I am fascinated by the nature of light and sound. Among other aspects of creation, the more you study it the deeper the revelation.

“For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them.  For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],  Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened. “ – Romans 1:19-21 (AMP)

It is already VERY clear from scripture that God and light share the same nature. Only, the light of God is so much more complete (intensity, purity and bandwidth) then anything we have ever experienced physically. God is also triune in nature (3 in one) but there is also talk in Revelation of the 7 spirits of God. Did you ever sit down and try to wrap your head around that?

Let’s discuss the Trinity first…

How can there be three separate persona’s yet One God???????  White light can be broken down or separated into 3 components: red, green and blue. They are three very distinct colors, each with their own characteristics, yet when they are combined they are white light. Each pixel of your computer monitor is divided into 3 little lights. You will never be able to display the full gamut of colors if any one of the RGB trinity is not present. In music, there is something very mysterious that happens when you play a first, third and fifth interval simultaneously. You get a triad chord! That chord has a sound all it’s own. It also has a sound that would not exist if any note of the triad was missing. So, there it is folks, tangible evidence of the supernatural in physical creation.

Now let’s look at the seven Spirits of God…

When you send white light through a prism you get more than just red, green and blue. You get the complete spectrum! ROYGBIV and every color in between. But there are 7 discernable colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet).  In those seven colors there are 3 primaries and 4 secondary colors. So 4 of the 7 distinct colors depend on 3 of them to exist! Doesn’t that just blow your mind! Hang on it gets better.

When we look at a star in the night sky we perceive it as a white light. When a scientist breaks the light coming from a star into it’s spectrum we see black bars at certain wavelengths. Each star has it’s own “fingerprint” by the levels of each wavelength of light it emits. Likewise, everything that we see with our physical eyes we see because it is illuminated. If it is not illuminated we don’t see it. If the object doesn’t reflect any light, we perceive it as black. If an object reflects all wavelengths of light equally, we perceive it as white. So each one of us has our own unique composition of the pure light. What we have accepted as white here in this fallen world pales (pun intended) in comparison to real white. It’s analagous to God moving through a prism at the moment of creation. That One pure complete light divides to three, then seven, then every imaginable infinate combination of color as the light source spreads out! each of us is a light fragment that could never exist without the three primaries of white light.

Musically, there are 7 distinct pitches that repeat themselves up the octaves. The distinct notes are A, B, C, D, E, F and G. Add the sharps and you get a total of 12 pitches. Twelve is another very significant number that I won’t go into now. Of course there are an infinate number of tones between them, but they are the distinctions we recognize. Could anyone look at this data and still believe all that exists is by chance?

None of us are really content being fragmented. It’s very frustrating!

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)

The glorious part is that just as Adam was the prism that split us all to fragments, Jesus is the prism that’s re-focusing all the fragments back to pure white light!

“Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life].” -1Corinthians 15:45

So, since the first Adam the beam of light has been diverging farther and farther into “individual” fragments. We do like to celebrate our individuality, don’t we? We rejoice in what we can achieve, build, create and destroy. The unity of the Spirit is becoming more of a foreign concept as “each of us does what is right in our own eyes”.  But, there’s no need to dwell on what is painfully obvious. Let’s turn to the gloriously miraculous… the last Adam.. Jesus Christ. He is the prism that is presently reconciling all things back to Himself. All the diverging that has occurred throughout the centuries has turned into convergence at the cross.
